    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Ronald Bayer, PhD, is professor and co-chair for the History &amp; Ethics of Public Health at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University Medical Center. His research focuses on issues of social justice and ethical matters related to AIDS, tuberculosis, illicit drugs and tobacco. He is an elected member of the Institute of Medicine of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, and has been a consultant to the World Health Organization on ethical issues related to public health surveillance, HIV and tuberculosis.  He worked closely with Dr. Mathilde Krim, the founder of amfAR.  ]]></dcterms:description>

    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Steven Mark Weiss is the president of Straightforward Communications, a marketing and research consultancy in consumer demography and trends. His clients have included Hilton Hotels, Denny’s and the California Department of Agriculture. A magna cum laude graduate of Binghamton University and of the Culinary Institute of America, Steve spent the early part of his career as the executive food &amp; beverage editor of <em>Restaurants &amp; Institutions</em> magazine. His work earned him a Jesse Neal award for editorial excellence from the American Business Media. For nearly a decade he was the regular columnist of <em>QSR Magazine</em>. He is also an award-winning journalist with 25 years’ experience as a marketing and management consultant to the food service industry. Steve resides in Scottsdale, Arizona, and serves as vice president of the Arizona Society of Astrologers. He has written books on astrology, including <em>Signs of Success</em>, which represents his lifetime avocational interest in astrology.]]></dcterms:description>
