Sue is a retired small business owner. She managed a successful retail candy business, “Candy in Bloom,” in Phoenix for 25 years. Prior to that she worked in customer service for Bank of America in Phoenix. She earned an MBA from Adelphi University in 1983. She also worked as a teacher in Vestal Schools and taught adults in Illinois. She has four children.

Interview with Steven M. Weiss
Steven Mark Weiss is the president of Straightforward Communications, a marketing and research consultancy in consumer demography and trends. His clients have included Hilton Hotels, Denny’s and the California Department of Agriculture. A magna cum laude graduate of Binghamton University and of the Culinary Institute of America, Steve spent the early part of his career as the executive food & beverage editor of <em>Restaurants & Institutions</em> magazine. His work earned him a Jesse Neal award for editorial excellence from the American Business Media. For nearly a decade he was the regular columnist of <em>QSR Magazine</em>. He is also an award-winning journalist with 25 years’ experience as a marketing and management consultant to the food service industry. Steve resides in Scottsdale, Arizona, and serves as vice president of the Arizona Society of Astrologers. He has written books on astrology, including <em>Signs of Success</em>, which represents his lifetime avocational interest in astrology.

Ronald Bayer, PhD, is professor and co-chair for the History & Ethics of Public Health at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University Medical Center. His research focuses on issues of social justice and ethical matters related to AIDS, tuberculosis, illicit drugs and tobacco. He is an elected member of the Institute of Medicine of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, and has been a consultant to the World Health Organization on ethical issues related to public health surveillance, HIV and tuberculosis. He worked closely with Dr. Mathilde Krim, the founder of amfAR.

Harpur College BA Social Sciences, '68. Rodney Alexander was executive director of the Manhattan Educational Opportunity Center at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC), CUNY. After graduating from Harpur College, he completed degrees in public administration and in business administration from NYU. His wife, Daryl Royster Alexander, was the founding editor of <em>Essence</em> magazine.

Paula is a practicing design historian. She is the author of three books on Native American jewelry, along with numerous magazine articles on American Indian arts and design. Before that, she was a professor in the humanities at Berkeley College in Westchester County, New York. Previously she worked as an art librarian and curator at the New York Public Library for 22 years.
