Atef was born and raised in Jdeidet Marjeyoun, a Christian town in South Lebanon. His parents, like many inhabitants of the town, held property in old Palestine before 1948 and were merchants. He was a teacher at the local school and was forced to flee the country due to the Lebanese Civil War. Atef is currently retired with his wife in upstate New York.

Born in Damascus, Syria, Jeanet grew up in a rich and diverse environment. Due to unrest in Syria, her family and she were forced to leave for the U.S. Her family's property was confiscated by the Syrian government and the Damascus International Airport was built on it. Today Jeanet resides in Appalachian, NY with her family.

- Jeanine was born and raised in Ghazir, Lebanon. She grew up during the Lebanese Civil War but did not feel its effects until the last few years. She married Jacques and moved to the U.S. to continue her education. She was a teacher in a French school in Saudi Arabia. - Jacques was born in Jdeidet Ghazir, which lies on the outskirts of Ghazir in the Mountains. He enlisted in the Lebanese Forces militia as the war broke out to defend his town from Palestinian insurgents. As the war was wrapping up, he received the opportunity to study at Binghamton University, where he studied computer science. He then received a job in Saudi Arabia and moved there with his family. - Today, both Jacques and Jeanine live in upstate New York with their kids and own a Lebanese restaurant.

Joseph was born in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia to his parents Jacques and Jeanine. After the 2004 al-Khobar Massacre, his family moved to Lebanon. After the 2006 Hizballah/Israel war, Joseph and his family moved to the U.S. Today Joseph is pursuing a degree in Public Administration at Binghamton University.

Josephine was born in Aintoura, Lebanon. She got married at the age of 15 and has four kids, three boys and one girl. She lived through the Lebanese Civil War, however, towards the end she was able to flee with her family to Boston in the U.S. After a couple months, she moved with her family to Binghamton and started a restaurant business called the Phoenician in the University Plaza in Vestal. Today she is retired and lives in Vestal surrounded by her family and Lebanese community.

Rawan was born in Irbid, Jordan. She lived in Oman throughout her early childhood and moved to Saudi Arabia for school. She continued her education in her hometown in Jordan and received a scholarship to finish her Master's at Binghamton University.

Ruby was born in Jordan's Capital city of Amman. She moved a lot throughout Jordan since her father held a high ranking position in the Jordanian military. She came to the U.S. to work on her Ph.D. in computer science and converted from Islam to Christianity
