After college, Price lived seven years in the Huerfano ("Orphan") Valley and published a memoir of her experiences entitled Huerfano: A Memoir of Life in the Counterculture. She left the commune to pursue a law degree. Price has a Bachelor's degree from Vassar College and a law degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law.
