Dr. James Hilty is a Professor Emeritus in History and the former Dean of Ambler College at Temple University. His early career centered on four years in the U.S. Marines (1958-1963) and several years as a history teacher in the Columbus, Ohio school district. Dr. Hilty is a well-known presidential historian with particular expertise on the Kennedy family and he also serves as a consultant on American politics for national and local media. Dr. Hilty is author of Robert Kennedy: Brother Protector, John F. Kennedy: An Idealist Without Illusion, and Temple University: 125 Years of Service to Philadelphia, the Nation, and the World. He received his Bachelor's degree and his Master's degree in Social Studies and History from Ohio State University. Dr. Hilty received his Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
