Description
Leather-covered, pages bound to each other but no the cover. Typed and bound manuscript of play. All text in German. Green pencil, blue pencil, and red pencil markings unspecified. Gray pencil note on back blank page reads “Begonnen 8/V 1909 Wien, Vollendet 24/VIII 1915 Ische (sic)” (Began 8/V 1909 Vienna, Completed 24/VII 1915 Ische). Page 102 also includes pencil marks, “8 May 1909 - 24 July 1915”. Typewritten page in beginning, reveals note that “Jaakob’s Dream” prelude never meant to be published. Handwritten notes on page 103 refer to possibility of printing certain excerpts from the publication as handouts for in the theater (marked 15 Jan 1917, Vienna). Only contains “Jaakob’s Dream” prelude to “The History of King David,” not the actual play itself. Loose sheet of paper in back cover, purple/pink ink, referencing page markings.
