Biographical Text
Dr. Paul Stoller is a a professor of Anthropology at West Chester University in Pennsylvania. He has been concussing anthropological research for 30 years. His early work concerned the religion of the Songhay people who live in the Republic of Niger and Mali in West Africa. Since 1992, Stoller pursued studies of West African immigrants in New York City. Stoller's work has resulted in the publication of 11 books. In 1994 he was awarded the prestigious Guggenheim fellowship. In 2013, he was awarded the Anders Retguis Gold Medal in Anthropology. Stoller lectures all over the world and has appeared on NPR as well as the National Geographic Network.
