Description

Emory Wilcox, a Civil War soldier writes to his cousin Anna Wilcox from Fort Federal Hill. He reports that the regiment has returned from Harpers Ferry. Emory describes Maryland Heights and the view of the Shenandoah Valley and seeing friends at camp. He tells of missing General Meade's army as they crossed the Potomac, which generated excitement among the soldier at camp. Original format: 1 sheet, 21 x 26 cm folded to 13 x 21 cm.
