Description
John Pike writes to his cousin Anna Wilcox from his barracks at Ward 12 Elmira, New York while awaiting deployment to the front. He describes the day's menu and sends the regards of a fellow soldier, Charles Woolent. Stationary contains illustration titled 'Battle of Fair Oaks-June 1 1862'. Original format: 1 sheet, 20 x 25 cm folded to 13 x 20 cm, and 1 envelope, 8 x 14 cm.
