Biographical Text
Thomas J. Scanlon, Benchmark's founder, and the president was among the first young Americans to serve overseas in President John F. Kennedy's Peace Corps. He published a memoir of his Peace Corps experiences in Chile entitled, Waiting for the Snow. Scanlon graduated magna cum laude from Notre Dame. He has a Master's degree in Philosophy from the University of Toronto and a Master's degree in Public Law and Government from Columbia University.
