Steven R. Shapiro is an attorney and educator. He is the former legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union, the nation's oldest and largest civil liberties organization. Shapiro also taught at Stanford Law School, and the NYU School of Law and he is currently a lecturer in Law at Columbia University. He has a Bachelor's degree from Columbia University and a Law degree from Harvard University.
