He became a licensed Baptist preacher by the age of 15 and was a pastor of several churches several years later, during which he was battling with his sexuality. Perry wrote several books including his autobiography, <em>The Lord is My Shephard and He Knows I'm Gay</em>.]]></dcterms:description>
