He was a lecturer at UC Santa Cruz and an associate producer with California Public Radio where he co-produced a six-part radio documentary, <em>Vietnam Reconsidered: Lessons from a War</em>. He served as executive director of the California Council for the Humanities from 1983 to 2008. Since his retirement, he has been a facilitator for the Center for Courage and Renewal.]]></dcterms:description>
