SymMiss Somogi, new conductor of the Harper [sic]
phony, received both her bachelor's and master's
degrees from the Julliard School of Music. Since
196? she has been an assistant conductor of the New
York City Opera under Julius Rudel where she recently
directed two performances of "The Daughters of the
Regiment" and wi ll soon be conducting "Carmen."
Other recent accomplishments include a guest conducting appearance with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and
a write-up in the national magazine People.
